Horizontal picture of you?

Hi, I’m Romy Blue.

Each part of my identity and all of my interests and experiences deeply inform my practice and how I invite people to connect with yoga. My queerness, my disability, my jobs, my communities, my keen study of astrology, world history and philosophy are all integral parts for how I shape a 60 minute class and a four hour full moon workshop.

The students that find me best suited for them are those who seek holistic embodiment, play, and collective connection. We breath with and for each other.

  • I study ancient feminist philosophy (let me know if you’d like an info dump on Inanna) and history from across the globe. I’ve studied western astrology for twelve years. I’ve been a performer all my life and have studied various forms of dance including ballet, modern, and pole dancing. I’ve called Seattle my home for the last 17 years and cultivated my relationship with it through community organizing through queer youth music camps, queer film festivals, dinners, sex worker labor organizing, and most proudly—my interpersonal relationships. I’m queer. I live with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I write poetry and short stories. I like to give this context about my personal life as it deeply informs, how I practice, teach, and share the healing and connective aspects of yoga; it informs how I study and share astrology; it all informs how I show up as an intimacy coordinator; and influences my creative practice.

  • I’ve been studying yoga with curiosity for over a decade which lead me to completing 8 Limbs 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in early May of 2026. Through my studies I continue to hone in on creating containers for students of self and collective exploration and connection through the spiritual art of yoga in a few of its forms. I am keenly interested in honoring the lineages, teachings, and practices of yoga through sharing inspired meditation, collective pranayama and Hatha practice, and sharing various aspects of the philosophy, history, and movement of yoga.

  • My teachers include Claudette Evans and the entire staff of the 8 Limbs Yoga Teacher Training Program. Emily Denton and Greta Rose from the Poseurs Collective. And all of their teachers, their teachers, and their teachers reaching all the way back to Vedic teachings cultivated thousands of years ago in what is now known as Indian and Northern Africa. My witch mother is Ylva Mara Radziszewski. My astrological practice is informed by Chani Nicholas, Rick Levine, Pallas K. Augustine, Alice Sparkly Cat, Kaelen Quintero, Rosie Finn, and many more. My values teachers are my ancestors both blood and cultural.

My teachers include the past, present, and emerging stewards of these lands—the Duwamish and Coast Salish peoples and all communities working towards a more holistic and balanced relationship with the land.

  • As a white and western practitioner of yoga I am called to name that colonization, gentrification, racism, and sexism has touched this ancient practice and how it has spread. Naming this, naming my teachers, naming my interests and communities I participate in, honoring specific practices through thoughtful study of the breath work, chanting, physical movement, history, philosophy, are some of the ways I hope to be responsible to honoring this practice.
